<p>Eating to prevent cancer or to boost your immune system during you battle with the disease before or after chemo, radiation, or instead of&#8230; whichever your choice it doesn&#39;t need to be difficult. If you are accustomed to eating the typical north American diet of animal meats and fats, and fast foods and sugar, then this may be a big switch for you.</p>
<p>If someone tells me that it is too difficult, too much trouble, too hard to change their eating habits, then I say you must want your disease.&nbsp; You can choose live giving foods and supplements that come from real god given nutritious food, or choose dead, chemical laden, fat drenched fast food. Now, don&#39;t think I am being judgmental&#8230; I am not. I am battling my own demons with a desperate craving for sugar, and it is incredibly hard to find time to exercise every day. So I KNOW exactly how you feel.</p>
<p>So just how easy can it be to eat the life giving &quot;Cancer Diet&quot; way? It&#39;s as easy as the nearest grocery store, health food store, farmer&#39;s market and the internet! Fresh vegetables and fruits grown organically and locally if at all possible, fresh, dried and/or powdered mushrooms, green tea in loose leaf form, dried&nbsp; and/or raw nuts, seeds and fruit, legumes (beans) and olive oil&#8230; these are the things that make up an anti-cancer diet. Add some herbal teas, a few supplements like CoQ10, Vitamin D, B Vitamins, omega 3 fatty acids, and iron if you don&#39;t eat meat, alkalized water and <a href="http://www.theliquidzeolitebook.com">liquid zeolite </a>to remove heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides, and viral particles to round off your nutrition, exercise daily, and limit meat and meat products, sugar and grains.</p>
<p>Does that sound hard? Well perhaps I could give you and idea of how that looks. It is summer here in Canada, so we (finally) have access to a seemingly endless supply of fresh locally grown produce. I visit the local farmer&#39;s stand and stock up. Fresh strawberries and blueberries are brought home.. some are eaten and some are bagged and put in the deep freeze for the winter months. Tomatoes by the bushel along with peppers, celery, onions, fresh pressed garlic, cilantro and lime&#8230; all thrown together in the food processor, and minced for salsa. This fresh raw salsa will be frozen in small containers, and of course some will be eaten. Fresh picked green and yellow beans eaten raw (and some blanched &#8230; dipped in boiling water and then cold water&#8230; and bagged for the deep freeze. Beets AND beet tops, fresh carrots, red and green chard, spinach and other leafy greens come into the house and are steamed and served with vinegar and sea salt. Green and yellow zucchinis, fresh onions, snap peas in the pod&#8230; these make a great stir fry. Corn on the cob as an occasional treat is so good picked straight out of the field. Peaches, pears, apples, plums, &#8230; all of these are grown locally as well.</p>
<p>Often when people find out I am vegetarian they will ask,&nbsp; &quot;What do you eat?&quot;. I always smile a bit&#8230; well first of all I sure don&#39;t look undernourished, but aside from that, what I have listed above is just a small sampling of nature&#39;s bounty available to you if you just change your mind a bit about what food is, and learn some new kitchen skills.</p>
<p>The difference between a flavorful, robust vegetarian meal, and one that tastes limp, boring or bland to a former meat eater is something called &quot;umami&quot;. Umami is (a fairly recently discover) fifth taste. It is usually present in meat and gives food body. Thankfully there are several foods available to vegetarians that have umami. These are the foods you should always try to have in an an anti-cancer kitchen. Thankfully they are all loaded with anti-oxidants, and other cancer fighting components, so they not only make your food taste better!</p>
<p>Umami is found in asparagus, tomato, soy or tamari sauce, mushrooms, wine, cheeses (sparingly), green tea, and is multiplied several fold when used in combination. Learn how to cook dishes including at least 2 umami based foods, and your meals will be much more satisfying, and easier to stick to.</p>
<p>Eating your anti-cancer diet should be easy too. Raw fruits and vegetables require very little prep time. Wash and serve, or wash, slice and serve. Prepared meals call for a little more planning. when I am chopping for one meal, I will often chop extra and have it in the fridge for quick grabs. I always have a container of veggies chopped in the fridge. My teens will take some to work for lunch as a salad, and I use them in stir fries, soups, and toppings for our Friday night pizza.</p>
<p>Mushrooms you should have on hand in a number of different forms, and eat some every day, either raw, cooked in meals or sprinkled into sandwiches, soups and sauces and stir fries. There have been many studies done, particularly on the so called chinese medicinal mushrooms, that prove that they have substances in them that support the immune system, suppress tumor growth, and so much more. It is so easy, even if you live in a rural area like I do, to get whatever you need. Mushrooms&#8230; this is a good example. I have cordyceps and red reishi mushroom powder, shitake dried whole, porcini dried sliced, and wild mushroom&nbsp; mix of maitake, porcini, agaricus and woodear, dried and broken, I also have agaricus blazei in liquid concentrate. We eat them in, or on, something every day. I ordered them on Ebay! Just do a search on ebay for any of the kinds I listed and you will find some that come from USA, Canada or China.</p>
<p>I hope you find that choosing life will be a rewarding (and tasteful) experience.</p>

<p>When people first consider becoming a vegetarian, or simply eating less meat, they are almost always concerned about whether they are going to be able to get enough protein in their diets. Even if they are not concerned about that, it is bound to come up from well meaning friends and family members.</p>
<p>It is important to know that you can get sufficient amounts of protein without eating meat.</p>
<p>Protein is made up of 20 different amino acids and 8 of them are essential for life. Plants all are made up in part, with amino acids. They just might not necessarily have all 8. So it is important to eat a variety of plant foods every day in order to get your fill of protein.</p>
<p>Here are some vegan sources of protein.</p>

<li>Raw Veggies- 1/2 cup of the kinds of raw vegetables you might find served with ranch dip at a house party have about 2 grams of protein.</li>
<li>Cooked veggies- 1 cup has about 2 grams.</li>
<li>Beans- beans and legumes have lots of protein. Don&#39;t just think &quot;baked beans&quot; though. Make some hummus, or a mexican bean dip, have a bean tortilla or some chili, or what about a 3 bean salad. Beans and rice with tomatoes and spices make a great spanish style main dish. There are many different kinds of beans and many recipes to try.</li>
<li>Grains- cereals such as oats and barley are rich sources of protein.</li>
<li>Quinoa- this ancient grain is one of the only plant based foods that actually has all of the essential amino acids. It is a complete source of protein all on it&#39;s own.</li>
<li>Soy products- these days a vegan isn&#39;t limited to tofu. Look for TVP (textured vegetable protein), miso, edemame, soy nuts, soy milk, and a huge variety of meat-like products made from soy.</li>
</ul>
<p>Some vegetarians still consume products that come from animals, while choosing not to eat the flesh of living creatures. These people also find good sources of protein in eggs, and dairy products like milk, cheese and yogurt.</p>
<p>No matter what you&#39;ve been told, it is not difficult to get adequate amounts of protein from plant based diets. Follow this simple rule. Eat a wide variety of foods every day, and choose from all color of the rainbow, and different textures.</p>
<p>You can be vegetarian, and be healthier than ever!</p>

<p>Home water ionizers, which I&rsquo;ve seen offered for sale on the internet, are just the latest twist in the ongoing effort to promote the notion that alkaline water is somehow protective of your health. The underlying idea is that you can prevent disease by balancing your body&rsquo;s pH. Promoters claim that alkaline water is energizing, hydrates the body more effectively than regular water, improves the taste of food when used in cooking, promotes &quot;regularity,&quot; helps the body absorb nutrients more effectively, and on and on. I&rsquo;ve even seen claims that it can cure everything from obesity and high blood pressure to breast cancer.</p>
<p>None of these claims are true. Furthermore, your body needs absolutely no help in adjusting its pH. Normally, the pH of blood and most body fluids is near seven, which is close to neutral. This is under very tight biological control because all of the chemical reactions that maintain life depend on it. Unless you have serious respiratory or kidney problems, body pH will remain in balance no matter what you eat or drink. As for water, you should consider the fact that alkaline water is common throughout the western states but to my knowledge it has not protected anyone from the diseases and disorders that occur elsewhere in the U.S.</p>
<p>The health claims for water ionizers and for alkaline water are bogus. Save your money.</p>

<p>So are health claims for ionizers and alkaline water bogus? Dr Weil doesn&rsquo;t give a reason for stating that health benefits are bogus so it is difficult to address his assertion.&nbsp;</p>
<p>I can, however, address the &quot;your body needs no help adjusting its pH&quot; claim.</p>
<p>Let us look at this rationally. Your body DOES have an intricate system that maintains the internal pH of your body. What happens if you continuously stress that system?&nbsp;</p>
<p>We already know that there is acidity in our outside environment. (Think Acid Rain) Acid rain is caused from chemicals, pollutants and a number of other materials both man made and natural (volcanic ash). The air we breath is acidic for the same reasons. The food we eat (processed and pesticide/herbicide treated) are often acidic.&nbsp;</p>
<p>So we breathe, eat and drink compounds that are already acidic or create acidity once in our bodies. Our body must work very very hard to combat these toxins and poisons and it is not adapted to that through evolution yet. When it gets overcome with poisons (which cause acidity) then disease occurs. Now what about in the meantime&hellip; before our body shows signs of over toxicity by way of disease, our body is working overtime to maintain a pH of around 7. It has a number of controls (buffers) that allow it to do this.&nbsp;</p>

<p>CHICAGO, IL, May 7, 2010 --/WORLD-WIRE/-- The May 6 report by the<br />
	President&#39;s Cancer Panel is well-documented. It warns of scientific<br />
	evidence on avoidable causes of cancer from exposure to carcinogens<br />
	in air, water, consumer products, and the workplace. It also warns of<br />
	hormonal risks from exposure to Bisphenol-A (BPA) and other toxic<br />
	plastic contaminants, says Samuel S. Epstein, M.D., Chairman of the<br />
	Cancer Prevention Coalition (CPC). <br />

	Concerns on avoidable causes of cancer have been summarized in a<br />
	January 23, 2009 Cancer Prevention Coalition press release, endorsed<br />
	by 20 leading scientists and public policy experts, who urged that<br />
	President Obama&#39;s cancer plan should prioritize prevention. These<br />
	concerns were further detailed in a June 15, 2009 press release.<br />
	Warnings of the risks of BPA are also detailed in a May 6, 2010 CPC<br />
	release. <br />

<p>There has been a ton of recent activity on the internet recently regarding vaccinations, and autism. Much of it has been prompted by the the government conceded vaccination case before the courts a couple of months ago.</p>

<p><i>Keisler wrote that medical personnel at the HHS Division of Vaccine Injury Compensation (DVIC) had reviewed the case and &quot;concluded that compensation is appropriate.&quot;</i></p>
<p><i>The doctors conceded that the child was healthy and developing normally until her 18-month well-baby visit, when she received vaccinations against nine different diseases all at once (two contained thimerosal).</i></p>
<p><i>Days later, the girl began spiraling downward into a cascade of illnesses and setbacks that, within months, presented as symptoms of autism, including: No response to verbal direction; loss of language skills; no eye contact; loss of &quot;relatedness;&quot; insomnia; incessant screaming; arching; and &quot;watching the florescent lights repeatedly during examination.&quot;</i></p>
<p><i>Seven months after vaccination, the patient was diagnosed by Dr. Andrew Zimmerman, a leading neurologist at the Kennedy Krieger Children&#39;s Hospital Neurology Clinic, with &quot;regressive encephalopathy (brain disease) with features consistent with autistic spectrum disorder, following normal development.&quot; The girl also met the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) official criteria for autism.</i></p>
</blockquote>
<p>This is HUGE and a step towards the government acknowledging that in at least some cases the vaccination precipitated the illness.</p>
<p>On to zeolite and it&#39;s use in Autism.</p>
<p>Zeolite removes heavy metals, including mercury, so is it possible that liquid zeolite could have some positive reversal effects in cases where heavy metal toxicity could be a precipitating factor?</p>
<p>Well, scientifically, there is no proof YET that this is the case. There is however, one study that I know of currently, that is in it&#39;s second year, so we may have some preliminary conclusion soon. The study is being performed in the United States, and you can read more about it at http://zeoliteautismstudy.com. The reason for the study is that there was much ANECDOTAL (testimonial) evidence that autistic children given the original liquid zeolite formula had improvements. Testimonial does not equal scientific proof however. That&#39;s why this study is so important.</p>

Cancer statistics are exploding. Some studies say that 1 out of every 2 people will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime. The reality is staggering. Not only is the monetary cost of cancer a huge burden on individuals and society, but the emotional toll is huge as well.

<p>Keeping those points in mind, here are the foods to eat to stop this terrible in it&#39;s tracks.</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Broccoli</strong>- Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cabbage have sulforaphane, a component which has been proven by science to stop cancer growth.</li>
<li><strong>Tomatoes</strong>- Lycopene is just one of the compenents of this healthy fruit that has been studied extensively for it&#39;s disease fighting properties. People who eat tomatoes at least 2 times a week have 33% less chance of developing this plague. (Tomatoes and broccoli eaten together have an effect greater than if one is eaten separately from the other)</li>
<li><strong>Mushrooms</strong>- Mushrooms contain beta glucans. Medicinal mushrooms like red reishi, maitake, shiitake, cordyceps, and agaricus blazei have been extensively studies. These mushrooms have been shown in hundreds of thousands of scientific research studies to prevent or cure cancer. In fact there is even a patented extract of mushrooms that is <strong>prescribed by doctors</strong> in Asia to complement traditional chemotherapy.</li>
<li><strong>Green Tea</strong>- Another gift from our friends in Asia, green tea is loaded with catechins and polyphenols&#8230; big words that mean big anti-cancer benefits for you.</li>
<li><strong>Berries</strong>- the powerful anthocyanins in berries will help to turn off the growth of cancer.</li>
<li><strong>Salmon</strong>- and other fatty fish, as well as olive oil, avocado&#8230; these are all rich sources of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are absolutely necessary for cell reproduction and healing, and are sorely lacking in our diets. Make sure you get wild pacific or alaskan salmon, as most atlantic salmon is now farmed which means it is also filled with antibiotics and has less omega 3 fatty acids than their wild counterparts.</li>
<li><strong>Garlic</strong>- has been proven to reduce the occurence of stomach, breast and esophagus tumors.</li>
<li><strong>Camu Camu</strong>- Many people still haven&#39;t heard about Camu Camu or Acerola but I mention them because they are a super concentrated natural form of vitamin C. You absolutely MUST have vitamin C, and lots of it, if you hope to fight cancer and stay healthy. Vitamin C is absolutely essential in the healing process, and a nutrient that is often overlooked. Most people would benefit from large amounts of vitamin C supplementation if these high C fruits (or powders) aren&#39;t available in grocery or health food stores.</li>

<p>We live in a toxic world, which is why I use liquid zeolite.</p>
<p>The United States is among the most advanced nations on the globe, and yet&nbsp; current statistics show that the United States is ranked among the top three countries in the world with the highest cancer rates for both men and women. We are talking 1 out of every 2 men, women and children who will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Those are pretty staggering statistics.</p>
<p>The technological aspects of our life that are supposed to make things better are actually creating a more dangerous world for all of us! Of 70,000 chemicals being used in the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) considers 65,000 of them to either be potentially or definitely hazardous to our health. These poisons aren&#39;t only in industrial settings either.&nbsp; Over 4 billion pounds of poisonous waste is released into our surroundings every year.&nbsp; Most of these toxins are known cancer causing agents.</p>
<p>There are carcinogens are&nbsp; in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat!</p>
<p><strong>Why use zeolite liquid?</strong></p>
<p>Reports from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and other worlwide organizations are show that more than 148 chemicals can be identified&nbsp; in&nbsp; blood or urine of&nbsp; American citizens, and it&#39;s not just adults!&nbsp; Even unborn and newborn babies are impacted.&nbsp; Many of these chemicals are poisonous to the brain and nervous sytstem, affect the respiratory system, disrupt hormone receptors, and have the ability to induce birth defects or aberrant development.&nbsp; Additionally, extremely poisonous materials were also recovered, including heavy metals (lead, aluminum, mercury) in addition to&nbsp; pesticides and herbicides.</p>
<p>One of the major causes of mercury exposure is dental fillings (amalgams).&nbsp; More than 140 million Americans have dental amalgams containing&nbsp; mercury!</p>
<p>Also, after the Second World War, the chemicals produced by wartime manufacturers became the raw material for producing fertilizers.&nbsp; Herbicides and pesticides can be found in the soil today of even organic farms, and are also found in your blood stream as toxic load continues to increase. Our food supply is inundated with pesticides, both from today and the spraying of days gone by.&nbsp; Research has indicated that these chemicals not only can be found on the skin of&nbsp; fruits and vegetables, but they also grow directly into the flesh of the fruit itself.</p>

<li><strong>Eye health</strong>- There is research that shows that lycopene and other carotenids (the pigments that make the fruit red) can help prevent against macular degeneration&#8230; one of the biggest causes of adult vision loss.</li>
<li><strong>Cholesterol</strong>- Research has shown that components of this fruit block the production of &quot;bad&quot; cholesterol.</li>
<li><strong>Circulation and Heart Health</strong>- Recent studies have shown that the GEL that surrounds the seeds can improve blood flow and circulation in the small blood vessels. Components of the entire fruit have also been shown to dramatically reduce the risk of heart disease.</li>
<li><strong>Skin</strong>- Oh yes, even your skin benefits when you eat marinara sauce. Lycopene has been scientifically proven to help protect your skin from sun damage. Not only that but people who eat the most were shown to have 33% more protection from sunburns.</li>

<p>Aside from all the health benefits, the Tomato has <em>umami</em>. Umami is the fifth taste, often referred to as &#39;savory&#39;. Umami is the flavor most missed by vegetarians, because it is most often contributed by meats. It&#39;s that finishing &quot;mouth fullness&quot; that gives a soup &#39;body&#39;. Only a few vegetables have umami and the tomato is one of them. That&#39;s why we love red sauces.</p>
<p>How do you get the most out of your tomato? Lightly cooked, and consumed with just a touch of fat seems to be the consensus for getting the most out of your meal. This seems to be one of the few instances when the nutritional profile of a food is actually enhanced by cooking. Don&#39;t over do the fat though. A tablespoon of olive oil in a pot of sauce should do the trick.</p>

<p>You are what you eat. We have all heard that phrase at least once in our lives. It&#39;s time to really understand what that means.</p>
<p>Think about this for a moment. The cells of your body regenerate themselves. Every cell in your body has a life span of up to 10 years, which means that 10 years from now, every cell in your body will be different than the cells that make up your body today.&#160;Your body needs building materials in order to create new cells, and that building material comes from the food you consume. You are, literally, what you eat.</p>
<p>How many of your cells today are made from fast food burgers and fries, potato chips, and other nutritiously void foods? If you do not give your body the proper nutrition then it will build new cells from whatever material it has at hand.</p>

<p>You are what you eat. We have all heard that phrase at least once in our lives. It&#39;s time to really understand what that means.</p>

<ol>
<li>Plan ahead- Busy people can have schedules thrown off by something as simple as a meeting that runs a little late, or a traffic detour. Plan your meals a week ahead, and buy groceries for those meals so you only need to go to the grocery store once a week. Unplanned trips to the grocery store can eat up your time.</li>
<li>Have a properly equipped kitchen- Have a variety of sharpened knives, a blender, 4 cutting boards of various sizes, bowls, casserole dishes, a good garlic press, sharp vegetable peelers and a microwave. I also have a chopper similar to the Slap Chop that you see on TV for super easy mincing. The proper tools, clean and ready to use can shave valuable minutes off of meal preparation.</li>
<li>Have your freezer stocked with bags of frozen vegetables, berries, mango and other fruits. Keep a well stocked spice rack, and keep plenty of fresh garlic, limes, lemons and condiments on hand.</li>
<li>When you have 10 minutes, make carrot sticks- Whenever you have a few moments, grab that bag of carrots, or bunch of celery, a cutting board and a knife, and start chopping. Having fresh cut carrots, celery, peppers, broccoli, romaine lettuce in a freezer bag or airtight container in the fridge will mean you always have a healthy snack on hand, and the ingredients for your next casserole are half prepared already. I do pefer bags because they take up less room, but containers are more earth friendly. I am not a big fan of already cut up apples, or carrots from the supermarket. Usually they applied some kind of preservative to the food that I don&#39;t think it&#39;s necessary for you to eat.</li>
<li>Double up- When you are making a meal, double the amount you will need and freeze it. You will be glad you&#39;ve got it the next time you have just half an hour until Johnny&#39;s softball game, and a hungry family.</li>
<li>Learn what makes a healthy meal so the guesswork is gone when you don&#39;t have time to think. Most people get more than enough protein, fat and grains. It tends to be the veggies that disappear from the menu of the time deprived family, and that&#39;s usually because the veggies take more work.</li>
<li>Keep fruit in plain sight- My counter is loaded with fresh fruit all year round. I have a fruit stand with apples, oranges, kiwi, plums, bananas. I only buy 2 or 3 pieces of each when I shop at the beginning of the week. Many fruits will last a week on the counter, and actually taste better at room temperature. I also keep the less healthy snacks out of sight in an inconvenient cupboard. This makes the fruit easier and quicker. My family&#39;s fruit consumption went up by 5 times with this simple tip alone.</li>
</ol>
<p>Hopefully you see how, with just a little planning, you can be on the path to healthier eating habits in record time.</p>

<li>It gives you energy- OK we all know that tea has caffeine in it. Did you also know that there is also a compound in tea that moderates and regulates the way the caffeine is released? This results in a smoother energy boost, without the crash that can follow a shot of espresso.</li>
<li>It helps you lose weight- studies have shown that tea may help speed up metabolism. More recently, however, newer studies have also shown that the catechins&nbsp; help reduce tummy fat. These extracts are finding their way into more dietary weight loss supplements because of that, but I would rather drink the brewed leaf for the whole benefit.</li>
<li>It reduces cavities- That&#39;s right&#8230; This remarkable beverage has been proven to reduce the bacteria in your mouth, not only fighting off cavities but reducing gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and destroying the bacteria that causes strep throat. Also, the leaf has naturally occurring fluoride for stronger healthier teeth.</li>
